Welcome to Saliksik.com, the online Pinoy science community that is open to all science newbies, experts, and enthusiasts! Saliksik. Research! It’s an essential part of science. It’s the source of most of our present scientific knowledge. It’s also a process we do everyday. Sometimes, we do it formally, during a classroom experiment or in a research laboratory. At other times, it isn’t so obvious. We just want to satisfy our personal curiosities or do a task in a better way. Whatever the case may be, whatever the setting, or the equipment (or there may be none!), what we’re doing is the practice of the scientific method on a daily basis, in our everyday lives. We ask questions, make our theories, and search for the answers. It is wonderful, that the questions never cease! And it is amazing, how much we’ve learned in the process of answering these questions. Many of our fellow Filipinos have engaged in a lifelong pursuit of science, enlightened us, increased our present scientific knowledge, and made our lives more colorful! A glance at the other sections of this site will show you why! Science is interesting, useful, and also very challenging. It can be frustrating, too, when we don't get results, when we can’t seem to find the correct solution, or even when we don’t have anyone to share with the ecstasy of discovering something important! We at saliksik.com hope that we can be the bridge to many scientifically-curious minds who want to ease the frustration, communicate precious knowledge, or share the appreciation, the enthusiasm, and the passion for science!
